MEASUREWINDER OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Place the roll of fabric in the cradle, unwinding from underneath. Feed the fabric through the measuring wheels then down between the stainless steel roller and the covered drive roller. Increase the space between the drive roller and the front adjustable roller. This will make it easier to thread the fabric up between the drive roller and the idler roller. Close the idler roller by moving the lever back.
Place a cardboard tube on the fabric between the drive roller and idler roller with the fabric between the idler roller and the cardboard tube. Then wind the start of the fabric around the cardboard tube and place it back on the rollers.
Set the adjustable guides (black plates) so that the cardboard tubes, front and rear, are free to rotate with minimum side play.
Set the speed control anticlockwise (minimum speed), then switch on.
Never allow the roll of fabric to slip on the drive roller as this will wear it smooth. Start off slowly and adjust the position of the front idler roller so that the fabric grips the drive roller but does not fall through. After the roll of fabric has increased in diameter it may be necessary to increase the space between the drive roller and the idler roller by moving the lever forward.
The meter will automatically return to zero when a new roll of fabric is fed through the measuring wheels. Alternatively, the meter can be reset manually by depressing the switch on the meter casing.
As an alternative to the cradle, a bar is provided which sits on the alternative fabric supports (see diagram).

Never drop or place rolls of fabric across the machine as the bars may bend and adversely affect the operation of the machine.
